Creating a servitor: What's in a name?

For the last weeks, I think to myself whether a name should really be given to a certain servitor while creating it or not. While I have respect to all schools of magick and almost all of them suggest to uniquely name your servitors, I don't really think that this is a must, especially if the servitor is only for your own use.

When you create a servitor, it is already indexed in your thought and consciousness as well as unconsciousness uniquely. Of course if you work in a group, then naming servitors could be a convenience. The reason behind uniquely naming a servitor is that you don't want other people to call or invite your servitors. So, by this logic, if you don't name them, how can other people call them?

Therefore, I have concluded that it is the best practice not to name your servitors when you create them for your own personal use.

Any ideas?

Magical experience and everyday life

I would like to evaluate the difference between sacred and profane from a magical perspective.

I am really not sure whether we have to know the mechanism behind any magickal procedure. I am sure that looking for evidence is a waste of time but mechanism is not evidence. At least, I don't seek information about magical procedure and mechanism for evidence. I am convinced by personal experience.

On the other hand, while looking for the mechanism of magic, one starts thinking about a unity of the knowledge. Consistency, consistency as in science. We suppose that gravity exists through the whole universe. Similarly, I assume that magick is coherent 7/24.

Magick is not something you do in certain times and then there is this "real" world out there. I just think that we already live in magick. The same is valid for any so called metaphysical or supernatural phenomena. There is really no difference between seeing a cat on the street and seeing an entity or a form on the street. The cat is in fact a form. Both cats and forms are neither sacred nor profane in my opinion.

So, if you are skilled enough, you can manifest virtually everything, every day. Think about your psychic experience. Psychic communication does not have preconditions to occur. While you may not know when you will have this experience, there is also no certain time and place for that.

While thinking about subjective and objective reality last week, I was also thinking about this everyday life issue.

I am still thinking on this...

Sorry, this is going to be off-topic but it is important

I am writing this post and two previous posts with the help of a proxy server because Blogger (and everything on *.blogspot.com) is banned in Turkey as of today afternoon. Here is a little detail and a screenshot: http://visnum.com/bloggercom-blogspot-banned-in-turkey/

So, that means I cannot reach my blog on blogspot directly. That also means that I cannot easily reach to your blogs if you are using blogspot. Of course I can follow you via an RSS reader beacuse RSS readers fetch your blogposts and show them elsewhere.

Anyway, just a quick note to let you know... And if you want to help spread the word and resist to this censorship, maybe you can blog about it. If you are a digg user, why not go and digg the story? http://digg.com/world_news/Blogger_com_banned_in_Turkey

It is possible that I can't find a working proxy sometimes and when I want to comment on your blog post, I may comment later. That's it for now but the reason you can read those lines now is that I am a geek. There are tens of thousands of people in Turkey who are not that geek. And their blogs are in Turkish, targeting Turkish people. They suddenly felt disconnected.

Anyway, sorry for interrupting the flow of Chaos Magick blog with this off-topic post but I felt the need to inform you.

The question of subjective and objective reality

When you look at concepts like intention & manifestation, you start thinking about reality. People defending the law of attraction against arguments like "what if everybody wants the same thing" are saying that reality is subjective and there are parallel universes, so everybody is experiencing their own universe. That means, when your intentions are in conflict with somebody else's intentions, they say that you attracted that conflict into your universe.

My intuition tells me that we are living in both of those realities together. It is somehow in harmony. We live in a subjective reality where all of our intentions find their place and manifest, and we also live in an objective reality where this objective reality consists of other's subjective realities. In other words, when you sum up all other people's subjective reality and intentions, what comes out is your objective reality.

When you think like this, you can explain almost everything. There is a God that is manifested by billions of people's intentions. This God may play an important role in your life as part of an objective reality. We have something like gravity which can also be considered as an objective reality because it may have been manifested by all of us. So strong that only a handful of people can stay away.

A combination of subjective reality and an objective reality which is created (manifested) by other people makes sense to me. Let's play with this. If I go to fight with a magician who is stronger than me, I may fail. What makes him stronger than me? I think his strength comes from the size of his subjective reality. Ok, let's compare this with less freudian terms. If a magician's subjective reality (that is his power of intention, imagination, knowledge, etc.) is more stable than mine, or if his subjective reality is more dominant than mine, he can beat me and win the fight. My plan and design and intentions in my subjective reality is not sufficient because there is this objective reality for me which consists of other people's subjectivity including this magicians.

I am not sure if I could make myself clear...

Experiences in magick using affirmations

I have different experiences recently. For the last two days, I started using affirmations. I would like to keep the topic private since it is something personal but that doesn't prevent me to share my experience.

This was similar to concentration and imagination in my mind, but closer to sigilization. I have repeated a sentence tens of times within a day, three or four times in a day. Then I saw some signs of progress. I say signs because that was only a small fraction of what I actually wanted. I accept them as progress because there wasn't any difference before I hold on to my affirmations.

I still wonder how this works. Is it something like nlp? I don't think so because nlp is similar with eft (emotional freedom techniques) and those are very psychological not very magickal. This is similar to law of attraction because in the case of affirmations, you don't need much action too. Then is this a result of "consciousness causes collapse"?

Magickal precaution regarding financial crisis

As far as I know the oldest and maybe the most important occult teaching says "thought becomes things".

I guess there will be more attention to magick and other occult topics or faith in general because of the financial crisis. I am sure of that because people usually tend to look for a metaphysical cure when hard times hit.

But more important than that is knowing that thoughts become things and controlling your thoughts in this turmoil.

In other words, people should pay attention not to manifest what they don't want. In such times, it is very easy to manifest what you don't want because of the dominant energy, dominant psychological status of the majority. The majority tends to feel and behave very pessimistic regarding their financial status and it is a dangerous possibility to have this pessimism manifested into reality.

At this time, it is useful to remember that "thoughts become things" is not something you can turn on and off when you want. It's a law like gravity and it's valid all the time, 7/24.

The difference between Law of Attraction and conventional magick

There was an anonymous comment on the last post and Ananael's answer to that. Let me quote them first:

Anonymous said...

I would appreciate more information on this subject of "unintentional manifestation." I've got some doozy examples: Walking up the sidewalk to a hospital front entrance for three weeks, everyday I noticed an older model black Range Rover vehicle near the edge of the side walk. Owning a "new" Silver Range Rover remains a manifestation I desire. After a week or so of noticing the older black Range Rover, I noticed that it's replaced by a new silver Range Rover exactly like the one I imagined and have plastered all around my home. Heck, I manifested the vehicle I wanted for someone else!

Another one: An older, wealthy gentleman interested in me, just like I wanted him to be and I wanted him to marry me and move to Virginia. He moves to Virginia, like I wanted him to but he marries another woman just like me. Again, my scenario exactly. But for someone else!

Oh, there are many other occasions too: my brother's trip to Vegas and the Wynn Hotel that happened for him exactly the way I wanted; my sister's trip to the salon I wanted to visit for a long time; a neighbor making a move exactly like I wanted. The list of these sorts of events "manifestation for others" has been seemingly endless for me!

Why am I accomplishing "magick" or "attraction" for others and not myself? Of course, these events did entertain me but I found them hurtful (because of their exactness) and they made me incredibly jealous. Fortuitously, these events did draw me to this blog and this entry because it was the subject of a burning question for me.

Ananael answered:

My question would be whether or not you have done a ritual for any of these things, or if you have just thought about them and kind of hoped they would come your way. In the former case, you need to examine and redefine your statement of intent, and in the latter case you need to start using actual magick instead of vaguely focused daydreaming.

While the "law of attraction" model can work if your thoughts are exceptionally clear, a problem with the method is that your desire for a specific outcome often gets mixed up with other aspects of your personality. The actual resulting "intent" can include all sorts of other information besides from the desire itself. One way that I could envision something like this happening in your case might be that you have enough talent to manifest the outcomes you want, but in some way you feel unworthy of receiving the benefits. So the things you visualize happen around you rather than to you.

If you are working formal rituals, make sure that your statement of intent explicitly mentions you receiving the thing you are conjuring for. "It is my will to summon a silver Range Rover" is not sufficient. A statement like that could have produced what you experienced since the Range Rover did appear. With this example, the statement would need to be modified so that it includes acquiring and owning said vehicle.

I had this happening in my personal experience too. I remember once I was using law of attraction to manifest a new notebook computer for myself and that has manifested for a friend of mine within two weeks. She didn't know about my intention.

I think it lies in what Ananael described as "...in some way you feel unworthy of receiving...". I am pretty sure about this. Here is a short relevant blog post: Psychotherapy can make you a better magician.

Here, we can see the use of entities. I understand that an entity you interact and delegate a certain job is performing far more better than your intention (I mean intention alone). Although you must imagine the outcome, formal rituals ensure that the outcome is not affected by your subconscious mind.

I turned those two comments into a blog post because I am impressed by that.

Opposite things may happen while a magickal operation is in progress

Previously, I have written about what to do when a magickal operation is in progress, and I tried to mention how to go about "forgetting" your work, not fretting about it, to hold your intention, etc. Now I want to talk about seemingly opposite things that may happen while a magickal operation is in progress.

When you put your magick into work, you have an intention to create change in the physical plane by using your forces in the astral plane. However, you can't always imagine the whole thing. Therefore, forces you use try to make it happen in several ways, including ways that pass through happenings that you don't actually intent to happen. Let's try to clarify that with a simplified example.

Suppose that there is someone you love at school and you are in your last year. You want to do something to keep in touch with him/her. You want to continue to see the person you love daily. You decide to practice magick with that intention. You put your operation into work and then you see that you have failed many exams and thus you have one more year at school so you can see your loved one daily for one more year.

I know the example is oversimplified. However this represents exactly what I want to explain. So, strange and unexpected things may happen during a magickal operation in progress. Most important reason to this is that you didn't imagine the whole process. If you would, less strange and unexpected things would happen.

An awful example to this can be found in the opposition to the famous "Secret". Some people claimed that using the Secret (the Secret is simply imagination) would cause unwanted changes in one's life. In the perspective I have described above, many unwanted, bad things can happen. The mechanism is this: You put an intention and you don't imagine many ways for it to happen. Then "the universe" or whatever you want to call it, tries to find ways to make it happen. Not all of those ways are compatible with your happiness.

So, the best practice would be to enhance your imagination to a point where you add a road map to your goal. If we talk about that using my oversimplified example, you should take into account that if you fail a couple of exams, you will continue to see your loved one and therefore, you should find another road map to achieve your goal. For instance, you can imagine him or her to be transfered to a school in your area.

Well, the example only takes the final outcome into account. There are also things that may happen while the magick is in progress. You may put your intention and "do" your magick and then you can observe things which are seemingly opposite to your imagined outcome. Be patient when that happens. Your magickal operation is in progress and that means it tries to find the best way to make it happen for you. Don't get stressed for what you see in a couple of days. Learn to become still and wait.

In some old schools, people work on a single magickal project for months. They wait for three waning moon periods or three dark moons. Three months in 2008 would look like a very long time for many people who want instant gratification with their magickal work however this is the truth.

I wish I could give more and more examples about this because this is a very important aspect of an ongoing magickal operation but there are many more things to post since I am just back from a vacation. I hope I can provide more examples on a third post about ongoing magickal practices.

Psychic experiences that meet history

I have always been interested in communicating to souls and spirits from past. Historical places are very convenient for trying this. Well, every place is historical in fact but I mean something more, when you are on a small village with a relatively less clutter and noise around, then this is a perfect place to experience just this: communicating with very, very old spirits.

Recently I am in a place like that. This is a small village on the Mediterranean coast and since it is September, there are only a few people around. I know the history of the place. This place has been populated since before Christ. I decided to have my way with some psychic communication.

Instead of choosing the usual night hours, I decided to choose early mornings and evenings, just after the sunset. I started meditating on the beach. The first encounter was with an old lady, who seems like on her 70's in my imagination. Unlike my initial intention, she wasn't from thousands of years ago. She presented herself as having lived in the late 19th century and died in the beginning of the 20th century. This was before the beginning of World War I.

I tried to ask her about her daily life. She told me that she rarely made her way into the beach. There wasn't anything specific at that beach. She was a Christian and told me about Sunday prayers they had in the small church. That was all about it.

My second experience was a little different. It was a child in my imagination around the age 10. He told me about the everyday life and that was all the story.

Well, I wanted to share those experiences because of two reasons. One of them is that I am always excited by this kind of communication. The other factor is purely for the sake of giving an example on how to contact. Many people do not trust on their senses and they are not able to contact just because of their level of belief and trust.

I told you before that this is not a big deal. You are already prepared and skilled to have this kind of conversation. I have mentioned this in an earlier post: deconditioning for psychic practice.

You should try it and trust yourself.

What to do when a magickal operation is in progress

In one of my previous posts about sigil magick and thoughtforms, Ananael commented on how he 'forgets' about his magickal practice. He said that not obsessing about his magickal aim helps on the forgetting part. I decided to take this further and write notes as a post. He basically said this:
Not fretting about a magical operation in progress is my take on how the "forgetting" works as well. The time you spend obsessing about whether or not an ongoing magical operation will work really seems to diminish its effectiveness, though I'm not sure of the exact mechanism. It's almost like if you hold the form too tightly in your mind it can't get the work done that you charged it to do.

I agree with him and I want to add what fretting or obsessing about an ongoing magickal work just means that you don't believe in what you do. This is a shortcut to becoming unsuccessful in magickal practice because magick starts and ends in your mind. This holds true on every level of magical activity. When you do your work and then obsess about it afterwards, this is a clear sign of disbelief.

On first impression, not to obsess about your magickal work seems very difficult to some people. That's normal too and there are ways to overcome this. You can become pretty relaxed with practice and experience. One of the ways to get relaxed is meditation. You don't need to meditate deeply, just try to keep yourself calm.

Why does obsessing about your work affects your practice and why is this a bad thing? Well, you usually do magickal work to create physical change. It is usually something that you want badly (ok, not always but sometimes). Wanting something so much involves disbelief. You don't believe that it is going to happen or you don't believe that you are going to have what you want. Therefore, since your belief is a strong magickal force, your belief manifests the reality ending up with not having what you want. Because the request sent to a higher force (the universe, gods and goddesses, entities, your higher self or whatever you want to call it) contains just this information: that you don't believe in having a certain thing and in fact you don't want to have it. This is what magickal practice is all about.

There is another perspective tough. Steve Pavlina, who is a self-development guru and also a master on intention- manifestation process tells something different. In fact he doesn't disagree with what I tell here but he adds something called polarity. According to this polarity model, he thinks that it's okay to use your obsession as a force in manifesting what you want. His model can be shown in an example like this: Suppose that you want to attract or manifest money and you can't stop fretting about it. At this point, Pavlina says that one should stay in this fearful process and imagine what she wants in this emotional state. So, you will use your fear against not having what you want at the end while imagining what you want. Thus, you use your strongest energy at that moment.

In fact, this is nearly equal to high magick. Higher practices of magick and especially chaos magick involves using any and every kind of energy. However, if you are a beginner, I would always suggest keeping a high mood and transacting a positive energy for your magickal work.

My recent experience on sigil work

In the last couple of weeks, I was working on a couple of sigils. One of them was about a friend of mine. I worked on general health and mental health for her. Yesterday, she told me that she had a wonderful week because she was able to do more in less time and she was very alert, very relaxed and healthier than before. She didn't know that I was working for her.

It makes me very happy to know that I am successful. I want to share what I do with sigils, especially when they turn out to be working well. I was always working in the past three months. Some of them have been very successful, some of them not. I can't really tell a clear distinction between what worked and what didn't but about this last experience, I did something different.

Instead of drawing sigils and charging them and either throwing them away or putting them somewhere I can totally forget about them, I've put my paper and pen near my notebook. I did sigil work during surfing the net. I spend about two to three minutes on each of them and then I stopped paying attention to them but they still stay less than half a meter away from me. Apart from that, I lit tea-light candles and put the candle over the sigil. I imagined that the candle charges the sigil when the sigil needs more energy.

There isn't anything particular in the making of a sigil, nothing specific. It's all you know about sigils, generic sigil making info would do it. Taking apart the letters that are used more than one and using all the letters only once, I drwa my sigils. Rarely, I add additions. Those additions are different drawings. Not big ones.

I'll post immediately when I find out what I did to make them work specifically, if any. For the moment, I just wanted to share that some of my sigils turn out to be very successful.

Particularly for Maosse, I can't tell very promising results. My blogs in which I used it didn't make a significant progress. There are exceptions, one of my posts elsewhere suddenly had 400 visitors in a day. That was a post which I have sent to stumbleupon a couple of days ago however the rise was later and somewhat arbitrary. Another exception is on a health blog that I used to publish with a friend of mine two years ago. We almost forgot this blog but last week, it suddenly started having about 1000 visitors/day. I don't think that this is the work of Maosse. If it is, this means that it is working arbitrarily. That's not a success. Maybe I couldn't charge it properly or I was not determined enough. Especially when I made the mistake in its name - maosse instead of maossle - that is an indicator of my seriousness. I think I wasn't concentrated enough. Maybe I should try another one.

Well, that was just a quick post to let you know about my latest sigil experience.

Psychic readings can determine your future

You have to be very careful when it comes to tarot readings or any kind of psychic readings because it can determine your future. If you are interested in magickal practice, then you should already know that your thoughts and your intention play the greatest role in manifestation. When you go to someone for a psychic reading or a tarot reading, now this power of thought and intention at least doubles.

Suppose that you have a question about your loved one. You are curious about what will happen in the future with him or her. You decide to go for a tarot reading. You met with a psychic, a medium and you start a fortune telling together (by any mean). This scene is more powerful than one person determining the future with his own thoughts and intentions.

Tarot cards are already powerful. They have a power of themselves. In addition to that, interpretation of cards also adds up to the accuracy and the power of a psychic reading. Therefore, when a person makes a false interpretation of a tarot card, it adds up to the future creation too. Moreover, if the person makes a positive interpretation regardless of the interpretation being right or wrong, it is still a powerful manifestation tool because of two facts: 1. The psychic engages in shaping your future with his own thoughts. 2. You believe and trust him so that what he tells is the truth about the future. Then your belief determines your future.

Human beings themselves are more important than cards and crystal balls because they are more powerful in creating the future, manifesting their intentions and changing physical reality.

Therefore, many powerful and successful psychic readers and mediums and tarot readers do intervene in the interpretation of what they see. They now they have the power to shape the future and therefore they try to extract all the positive meanings from their reading. That's a good thing. This is the right thing to do. This is the best practice when you engage in fortune telling.

Since this is something which would change your future, trust your intuition and don't go with people who are dominantly pessimistic or negative in nature. If you can't find anyone you can trust in that, do your readings by yourself and add lots of intuition, intention and thought into it. Psychic readings and tarot readings can be charged too.

Thoughts, thoughtforms and sigils: Are they any different?

I have written before about thought forms and sigils, separately. I think they aren't different, they are the same thing. Now I don't believe in the classical definition of how a sigil works. According to the original definition by Austin Osman and the essential chaos magick, you create a sigil and you forget about it. I don't think it works that way now. I think NLP would work that way but not a sigil that is created for magickal purposes.

First of all, charging a sigil and forgetting about it just doesn't cohere. It's inconsistent. I believe that there is no use in 'forgetting' a sigil after you created it. Hence, you create a sigil for a change in the physical world to happen. Why on earth would I 'forget' what I want. So, you should think in a different perspective.

Magick manifests through intention. Intention is the fuel of any magickal activity. There is no forgetting in intention. The strong your intention the fast your manifestation.

So, each and every time you think, you create a thought-form. This thought-form is in fact a servitor. Your thoughts, feelings and intentions charge that servitor and it does its job.

I am emphasizing this because I believe that understanding sigils, thoughts and thought-forms aren't any different than each other and in fact they are the same thing is very crucial in achieving deconditioning. We are all conditioned by rule-books about magick and they stand in our way. Nothing more. Of course I have great respect for book of shadows in any form. However we have to clear our mind and open up our perspectives. In order to be able to achieve that, we have to stay away from the known for a while. At least for a while.

Now that the fact that the universe isn't created by solid matter is accepted by contemporary science (not that I need evidence for it but anyway), it's not that hard to decondition yourself from newtonian physics.

It's not that hard to enhance your imagination even if you follow contemporary science. It's not that hard, it's not that hard. Of course there is no free lunch however if we can take the time to meditate on the change we really want to create and be patient in waiting, observing and accepting the result, there is no reason not to succeed.

I can't go far with today's post, I had a very busy day and I need to sleep. I have to sleep with many things in my mind that want to post right now but time, oh time. I need to use Fotamecus more often.

A recent psychic experience

I had a psychic experience recently. The first encounter was a couple of days ago. I tried to contact again the other day, but I was not very successful because I haven't the time and opportunity to get concentrated on that. Let's move on to what happened and who this person that I believe I have contacted may be.

First of all, I believe that what I have contacted with is a living person. I don't think that he is a spirit of a dead person or I don't think that he is some kind of entitiy other than a human being. I refer to him as he however I am not sure about his gender. I just feel that this person is a man. The image in my mind was of a man aged fifty something.

My imagination and visualization started in a tent. I was actually lying on my bed in the bedroom. I needed to take a nap and move on with my work. I was overly stressed and I was feeling anxiety on every level of my body. I just laid down and tried to call spirits for help. I felt that I was under attack. Then this imagination came to my mind. I visualized myself being in a tent on a bed. There is this man in front of me, dressed in a shamanic fashion. Try to imagine a man in a shamanic clothing, having a shamanic make-up on his face and looking like sixty something although he is fifty something.

We had eye-contact and nothing more. Than I heard him chanting in a low voice and burning something like incense, a couple of them. After some 15 minutes or so, I started to feel better. It was that night that I started drinking this rosemary mint mix daily. So that means it was Wednesday night.

I am pretty sure that this was a psychic experience and this is also a good example for what I was trying to explain the other day on a post about deconditioning for developing psychic skills.

I guess this man is either from around Africa or from somewhere around the Caucasian, maybe from Australia. I am sure that he can be identified as a shaman. Nevertheless, it was a great experience to meet him. I am so sure that he is somewhere on the earth and is a living person like you and me. I am grateful that he successfully healed my anxiety that night.

I am looking forward to meet him again. I'll try to meditate on him within a couple of days.

I've quit coffee with the help of rosemary and mint

Okay, this is not exactly about magickal practice. This is a little bit off-topic but maybe it still counts as something wiccan since it includes herbs and healing. I am not drinking coffee since Friday evening. It has been more than four and a half days right now. It all happened with the help of drinking rosemary and mint mix. I was not intended to quit coffee nor was I hopeful about it. Therefore it is even interesting.

Since Friday evening, I don't feel the need for drinking coffee. For those of you who don't know me in person, I am a strong caffeine addict. I was drinking at least three cups of coffee every day. Sometimes, this score becomes five to ten. And I am used to very strong types of coffee, like turkish coffee without sugar.

I am now drinking rosemary and mint mixed and I don't feel the need for coffee. Just a quick note to let you know if you are interested in natural healing methods with herbs.

Deconditioning in magickal practice: developing your psychic skills

Suppose that you want to learn how to do a psychic reading. Where would you start? Let me tell you. You have to start developing your visualization skills. Those skills include your five senses. You will start from sensing sounds even if they don't seem to be there. You have to be able to visualize a seemingly non-existent object on the table.

All of this skill development requires deconditioning. Deconditioning means unlearning your previous perspective, or so to say, to enhance and enrich it.

You are conditioned to believe what you see with your naked eyes. However, you can also see anything that is physically not there. Once you achieve deconditioning and start to visualize clearly, then you can try your hands on a psychic reading.

When you try psychic reading, you may hear sounds, even meaningful words and sentences from different dimensions. You may see spirits with your naked eye. You can smell, touch, taste what is physically not there. In fact, they are there however we cannot feel them because we are conditioned not to see them.

Throughout this deconditioning process, try to erase doubt from your mind and heart. For instance, when you feel that one of your friends is thinking about you, don't hesitate to call them. Don't fall in doubt. When you feel some entity is around you, don't fall in doubt. Try to know instead of to think. Don't think that whether you have psychic abilities or not. Know that you have psychic abilities and get rid of the conditioning.

Try an online psychic reading with a friend abroad. Try online psychic reading with someone you just met online. Trust and know that you can do it.

Don't wait for a rules and regulations book. There is none. Just go easier with it and don't get trapped by the feelings like "did I do it?", "am I successfully reading the future (or the past)"... Be sure of yourself even if you are not sure of yourself.

Any magickal practice and any psychic ability starts and ends in the mind. Since you are the sole owner of your mind (hopefully), you can achieve psychic readings and far beyond that.

Please let me and the readers know of your experiences in the comment. Sharing does increase our speed in our practices.

Using essential oils and colors for magickal practice

From my own experience, I want to share what works for me in terms of oils I use and colors I use for candle magick. Yes, although I believe that magick starts in the mind and ends there, I also use traditional methods in my practice. At the end, this is the very definition of chaos magick: use what works for you.

For spiritual protection:

I use an aromatherapy evaporator. Aromatherapy evaporators are just tiny water-boilers that work with the heat of a tea-light. Those are small things usually consisting of two parts (it can be also one part). To use it, you pour some water into the dish on the top, place a few drops of oil on the water, and light a tea-light candle below it.

For spiritual protection, I use sandal wood oil in that evaporator. If you feel that you need something to raise your level of attention and alertness, or for concentration, you can also add rosemary oil into the mix. This would make you concentrate easier on almost anything.

For candle magick, I use red or white or black or a combination of them for spiritual protection. The most important thing is symbolism here and it works according to your subconsciousness.

You can also mix them altogether like using a red candle under a sandalwood oiled water.

Of course, you have to pay attention to what you want to achieve. While steams of sandalwood oil goes into the air you can imagine and visualize that you are being protected. You can use that with or without casting a circle according to your wish. Use it in a way that fits your nature.

For material gain:

For purposes like attracting wealth in any meaning of the word, I use yellow in color for candles to represent the mother earth. The story behind using the element earth is very simple. It represents the soil, efficiency, abundance, productivity. You should use yellow if you want to create a sports car for yourself, you should also use yellow if you need hard cash, you should even use yellow too when prepare yourself for an interview for recruitment purposes.

As with the oils, I can use anything related to earth but I usually prefer camomile's oil. I have also used orange oil and jasmin oil as a mix with camomile oil.

For love, relationships, sexual attraction, passion

Maybe this is the most known thing among colors for magickal purposes. Without doubt, I use the color red for those purposes. For the oil, I don't have any particular favorite oil. However, my experience says that using ylang ylang is effective.

The importance of imagination

Whatever you practice, imagination is the most important part of any magickal practice. You can see that in any magickal school, nothing is being done or considered done without the magician purposefully imagines the outcome intended. Therefore, you also have to use your imagination to achieve the desired outcome or change in your environment. Without imagination, it doesn't really matter whether you use oils or candles or entities to achieve what you want.

I'll continue with more examples on using oils and candles later on.

Magickal Arts: Charging Crystals and Oils

This is four part video series from Rob Cutter, explaining how to use and charge crystals and oils. In previous post titled What does charging mean? How do you charge something?, I briefly explained the notion of charging. It is always good to have different perspectives, so here is it. I think that his explanations are more comprehensive than mine.

What does charging mean? How do you charge something?

Charging is an essential concept on almost all kinds of magick. While writing on tarot magick yesterday, I promised to post about the notion of charging and here it is.

Charging, generally, means directing your energy towards something and feeding it with your energy. When you draw a sigil, you can charge it by placing your hand over the drawing and thinking and concentrating about your intention. That's all you have to do for a classical charging.

You don't have to be physically connected to the thing you want to charge. You remotely charge things. The famous experiment on water crystals that Masaru Emoto conducted is a proof that you can charge things remotely.

Charging Crystals

Many people into Wicca and Witchcraft are using several crystals for several purposes. Usage of crystals is not limited to witchcraft. They are widely used for alternative methods of healing. For instance, amethyst is used for treating sleep disorders.

Most of the crystals are charged under the full moon (I am talking from a witchcraft perspective). Moreover, when you put an amethyst and a family of quark together, they can charge each other regardless of the position of the moon.

Next to this post, I am going to publish a video series of Rob Cutter, explaining charging oils and crystals.

Charging and Reiki

Reiki is a healing energy and the meaning of the phrase is roughly something like "Hi Energy!", or "Hello Energy!". See that this word is in fact a greeting and linguistically, it doesn't mean "universal energy" or "healing energy". It is simply a greeting phrase.

In reiki, in fact you don't charge anything. You just use energy to flow through your body and transits from your hands to the person's body where it hurts or where it is unhealthy.

However, you can charge other things with reiki. There are reiki boxes out there in which you can put your written intentions or any other thing that you want to heal (a broken radio for instance?) and then you charge that box with your energy.

My take on the subject

I think charging means showing and trying to transfer your intention to things. It can be done manually or just mentally. I think that although it is not necessary, we always look for something to symbolize our intentions. Voodoo is a typ of such symbolism. I don't think that you need a doll to harm anybody properly. Your thoughts and intention maybe sufficient for that.

So, that's what I think on the notion of charging when it is used with a symbol or with something to represent it. I believe in charging but I am just saying that you don't need any material in your hand to charge something.

You can also charge your tarot cards and anything you use for your magickal practices. I also believe that you don't need to be the source of energy when charging. I believe that you can create a servitor who will take it's energy from the sun or the moon, pretty much like any apparatus designed for that purpose in mind.

NLP can be considered as chaos magick

I think it can be. Remember, chaos magick is about finding what works for you and implement it in your magickal practice.

When you look at it from the perspective of chaos magick, anything can be considered as a magickal practice. The law of attraction, or by its popular name the Secret is also a kind of chaos magick in that sense.

If you look at the working mechanisms of sigil magick, you will find many similarities among sigil magick, nlp and the law of attraction. They are there with the intention of manipulating your consciousness because they firmly believe that the reality manifests is only caused by your thoughts, consciously or unconsciously.

Historical, ancient approach to magick says that magick primarily occurs in the body of the magician. This is something to think about.

With the development in contemporary physics, quantum mechanics offers a model of the universe as a hologram. A hologram is something that does not exist in terms of our perception of reality. A hologram is just there for you to feel it with your senses. In the case of this physical universe (in fact it is just supposed to be physical but contemporary physicists do not say so), the reality is something we accept as reality through our five senses.

We say that the universe is out there just because we are able to see stars with our naked eyes, able to do scientific universe about the space and recently able to see a vast distance via the hubble telescope.

That's it, and this is the holographic universe where we sense and think of it as real pretty much like a video game.

Some of you may be familiar with first person shooter games. There is always the possibility of getting shot anytime and you feel the fear. When you get shot you get anxious. Maybe you are even shaking. Now, holographic universe is something like this. When you perceive it with your five senses, it comes so real. In fact, it is very possible that we are just spirits connected to a software like system and perceive things as real.

And in this software like system, nlp and chaos magick are trying to use human thought, subconscious work to alter this reality. The fact is the reality was not there from the beginning. It is always in an altered form. Therefore what you do via magick or nlp is not something new. You put your hands into a work of change and you change something that continually changes. It would continue to change even if you stay away from it. By engaging yourself in this change (river of change let's say) you just put your vote in it and your vote is counted. It looks like that this is the system we are in.

I have not much practice with nlp. I just know it at a level of general culture. I just know what it is and what the mechanism it offers and just that.

Do you have any experience with nlp?

Methods of Tarot Magick

Here are easy and effective samples of Tarot Magick. Tarot magick is a kind of magick that you do with the help of your tarot cards. Any deck of them will do. I for myself use the classical Rider-Waite deck. The reason is simple. This is the most famous tarot deck and many people are using it. Many people using it just means they are charged stronger than any other deck. This charging issue is important. I am going to tell about this on another post. You can charge almost everything with your energy or any other energy and that's a good thing. It is very useful.

Now, let's delve into examples and my own experience, right now. All you need is concentration and our tarot deck.

First example I would like to give you is about health. I have done that a couple of months ago and it was like magick! In fact it was magick :)

I had a severe sciatica which lasted for a couple of days and it prevented me from walking. Any move was very painful. I tried to work some reiki on it and it was helpful. However, what I have done with tarot cards was a miracle.

I selected a couple of cards. Magician to represent me, the tower to represent urgency, death to represent change and strength to represent what I need (health. this can be different from school to school but the most important thing is that you should choose the card that would represent health to you, according to your condition). If you put them together, what that means is simply: The Magician needs immediate change in his power. I've put those cards in front of me (you can also hold them in your hand) and concentrated on my intention. My intention was to be able to walk. After some thirty minutes later, I was able to walk with minor pain. That was incredible for me at that time. This made me more into Chaos-Magick because this was something I made up out of my mind. You know, Chaos Magick simply means to work with what works for you.

Let's talk about my imagination and concentration in this 30 minutes because this is what I think that made the trick (trick? what trick? I was able to walk and that was a miracle).

I imagined the cards have this power to help me and they are working on my back pain. I imagined that they sometimes work separately as four different entities and sometimes they become one and work that way.

I believed that there is nothing I can do to prevent their working and they will finally succeed. I was not determined about this 30 minutes. 30 Minutes were just the time I started feeling better.

Let's review those for cards, visually:

I guess the most arguable part of this is the death card. Many people that have little or no knowledge about tarot are afraid from this card because they don't know it's meaning. Death card in tarot doesn't represent death. It may represent death on certain occasions. However the most important and the strongest meaning of this card in tarot is change. It represents change. It tells that something will end and something new will start. Therefore, you can use this card in your tarot magick word to represent change. I think this is the wisest decision to use to represent change.

Another but probably less arguable card is the tower. This card is scary for many people too. However this card itself does not mean anything negative at all. It's most known and accepted meaning is urgency. Meanings may differ according to context of your question and the combination or what you want to do with the cards but this card tells you that something will happen suddenly or very fast or immediately or maybe even instantly.

As a second example, I will use the same sequence of cards to affect emotional change. Suppose that you are suffering from childhood memories or something you are affected deeply. In that case, you can use the magician to represent yourself, death to represent change and the moon card to represent your subconscious. Thus, when you meditate on it, your combination of cards mean the magician creates change in the subconsciousness. But in what way? To determine that, you can use another card to represent how and where to change. You can select a card that makes you happy when you look at it.

Now, I have excluded the tower card from this combination, why? I've just thought that a sudden change in the subconscious may not be among your best interest. Changes in subconscious needs time and a long process would be more comfortable and more enduring.

So, I think this is enough to start with tarot magick. Chaos magick tells you to find your own way of doing things and I believe tarot magick is one of the ways to go with it.

Maosse did it's first job

Only minutes after I posted about Maosse, a quick googling shows my Maosse post on #1 among 467 results.

This is going to be far more interesting than I have predicted.

Maosse: Chaos Magick in action

maosse
This was something I wanted to try and present since I began writing this blog. Let me introduce you to Maosse, my new servitor. The above image is it's sigil. I created him with the purpose of increasing my blogs' visibility. It will work through search results so that my blogs gain more visibility and thus end up in more visitors.

This is just the beginning and I am really curious about how it will function. I think this post as a part of charging it because having posted about it adds to my intention.

I created this sigil entirely digitally, using numbers. Then I stretched them a little bit and then a little bit more, using different tools in a vector graphics editor. After about 24 hours, I looked at it and tried to read something from it's visual. What I have read was something along the lines of mosse. Then I googled that and seen that there are search results with that word. I wanted this servitor's name to be unique,, so I searched for other similar words by playing with letters. Finally after two or three searches, I came up with the name Maosse. At this moment, there aren't any search results with that word. Now, it's name is unique. After finishing this post, I looked at it again and I realized my mistake, the unique name was maossle and not maosse. I don't know how I made that mistake but anyway, it happened and it's name is Maosse and it will stay that way.

Maybe someday it is going to be as famous as Fotamecus, who knows?

I want to know whether anybody is interested in paying attention, charging and using Maosse, so please let me know in comments about that.

Be sure that I will publish results about it.

By the way, if you want to use it on your website or blog, you can use this code below which link back to this post when clicked on the image:

Overview of Islamic hawass or hawaas

Islamic hawass (or havass or hawas) is the magickal system in Islam. While Sufism is Islamic mysticism, when it comes to magick, hawass is the way to go.

In hawass, you work mostly with the entities called genie. You can also work with angels, pretty much with the same logic in Western magick, demonology and of course Kabbalah.

Islamic magick has its roots in Kabbalah. It is based on astrology, numerology (this is called ebced or abjad or أبجد in arabic) and demonology. It has very strict rules in clothing, cleaning of the body (of the magician), the room where you will do magickal practice.

It has also very strict rules on timing based on astrology, horoscopes, sign of the person you want to affect, servitors you are going to use, etc.

If you want to sink your teeth into Islamic magick, the perfect place for beginners is the 99 names of Allah. 99 names are used for attracting according powers by repeating them for hundreds of times. You can choose one of them or a couple of them and meditate on them to attract related powers onto you. This can be used for any purpose. Just search for and look at the meanings of them.

If you want to go further, you need to learn how to write in Arabic. You also need to learn astrology for timing.

Psychic self defense and higher realms

A seven part video series from Rob Cutter about protecting yourself from negative entities, spirit communion.

Briefly, this is about psychic defense. When you are engaged in magickal practice, you will encounter a few entities sooner or later. You may not interfere to entities at all since your school of magick or what you find right for yourself may not include the use and communication of and with entities. However, we have the ability to create and call upon many astral creatures all the time. Therefore, it is not only important for people who engage in magick through entities but also important for many people to know how to protect themselves from negative energy, evil, eye, bad luck, bad vibes, whatever you want to call it.

It is also necessary to protect yourself if you engage in doing psychic readings. Some psychic readings are done through entities. Sometimes this happens even while the psychic is unaware of the fact that she or he is in fact communicating with such entities.

Techniques of protection is also good to know in case of possessions or ghosts, etc.

Pyschic readings through astral entities

Psychic readings, divination has a great place in magickal world. I don't know anybody who is not curious about the future or something unknown in the past or in present.

Psychic readings help us to know. We want to be in he know when we are trying divination.

As you may already know, some forms of magick involves relations with astral entities. In Islamic hawass, you work with the genie. Genie is an astral entity.

Astral entities can also be used for bringing news from places where you cannot reach. Some people say that each psychic makes use of entities. Some of them don't agree. Some say that people with psychic abilities are possessed by some entities and they are even not aware of them.

This curiosity also leads to suspicion about online psychic readings. When you request a psychic reading over the net via e-mail, you cannot know whether the psychic person is using entities. People who believe that human beings are not capable of seeing the future without the help of an entity do not believe in online psychic readings because they do not believe that such a developed psychic would makse use of the internet.

I for myself think that it is not a criteria for the validity of a psychic reading. I believe that humans are capable of doing magick and psychic readings by themselves. We are capable of manifesting many things in many kinds of reality.

Sometimes, I would like to experiment with readings. Maybe someday I'll try doing it over the net. I don't plan to charge anything for it. I am not a professional on the issue. Anyway, that's another story.

So, similar to any kind of magic, psychic readings can also be done with the help of entities but this is not a necessity.

What is a magick wand, why would you use it?

Magick wands, sometimes called athame and other times people find this as a misuse because they think a magick wand and an athame are different things, are used to direct energy, period.

Recently in the last decade, magick wands get famous again with the movie series Harry Potter.

I haven't used a magic wand yet. Once, I tried to charge my sigils with a pen. That might be a good example for using a wand. I imagined my energy is directed from the athame to my sigils. The pen, being a pen I like very much and use often is a good mean to direct energy.

I wrote my thoughts briefly on directing energy in a previous post. Since the aim of a wand is to direct energy and since we are concentrated on chaos magick, it is not important what you use in place of a wand. Anything would do, you can use a knife, fork, a bottle, anything. It doesn't have to look like a wand because what you are trying to do is chaos magick. That means, you are not bound to rules and regulations. All you have to do is to find out what works for you.

Creating thought-forms

Thought forms are astral entities. Wikipedia defines thoughtforms as:

A thoughtform is a manifestation of mental energy, also known as a 'tulpa' in Tibetan mysticism. The concept of thoughtforms is related to the Western philosophy and practice of magick.

Thoughtforms are also known as egregores. The most famous thoughtform is Golem. The definition of Golem in Wikipedia is as follows:

In Jewish folklore, a golem (גולם, sometimes, as in Yiddish, pronounced goilem) is an animated being created entirely from inanimate matter. In modern Hebrew the word golem literally means "cocoon", but can also mean "fool", "silly", or even "stupid". The name appears to derive from the word gelem (גלם), which means "raw material".

Imaginary friends, demons, genies (islamic hawass), ghosts may be considered as thoughtforms too. In my humble opinion, I think that many Gods and Goddesses can be considered as thoughtforms too.

Below are a four part video series by Rob Cutter. He explains the creation methods of thoughtforms and he also tells his own story about it. In his experience, one night he saw his creation manifest into physical reality.

Challenge your reality, challenge your magick

Here is another video series by Rob Cutter. In this five part series he explains the reality shift a magician has to achieve. Rob Cutter has really very explanatory videos.

His ideas and explanations will surely make your magickal practice much more easier than before. Well, if your deep into chaos magick, discordia, etc. you may not find enough humor in his style but anyway. He knows what he is saying.

Please let me know if there are any issues with videos, I mean technically.

In order for REALITY to be shaped by magick it must first be understood for what it is. A person cannot change what is not understood. CHALLENGE YOUR PERCEPTION OF REALITY!

Why magick works and why it doesn't?

Below is a video (46 minutes) by Rob Cutter. He explains why and how magick works and why not when it doesn't.

There is an underlying CORE of mechanics for why magick either works or doesn't. The truth is, it ALWAYS works, just not in the way you may have intended. But in order to make it work, you must understand WHY it works.

He also shows his candle magick and also explains the importance of colors as well as chakras. He explains the connection between your chakras and colors that are used for candle magick.

He insists on the idea that magick occurs mentally, primarily. Thus thinking creates a change in the physical world.

Here is the video. I'll try to answer questions in comments, if any.

Buffer of time in magickal practice

How long does it take to happen what you intent to do with magick? There is almost always a lag between your practices and the actual outcome. Frankly, this is a show-stopper for the beginner. The intermediate magician is accustomed to this and is patient.

Why is there a buffer of time, I think nobody really knows. This is not happening in psychic reading or tarot readings. This happens only when you try to create something. A change in the physical life.

I am sure there are people out there who do not get affected by this lag. Both in terms of patience and in terms of duration, I guess that there are magicians out there who are already comfortable with this.

For the beginner, patience is a virtue. Whatever you are trying to do, there is going to be a buffer of time and this sometimes serves a purpose and other times not.

However, one thing is certain. If you get too anxious about time passing, you would probably fail on what you are doing.

Try to find something to spend time. Try psychic reading. Call a friend and get her to ask you questions on the phone and try to answer them. Maybe you can develop your psychic abilities while waiting for the magick to be manifested you have casted (sounded like a love spell isn't it?).

Read a new book about different kinds of magickal school.

Learn to wait. No pain no gain. Things will go faster in time.

Magick is about meditating and focused thinking

The crucial element in magick is focused energy. This can also be defined as a state of deep meditation. A strong concentration. Deep thought. Recently, developments in the area of quantum physics and ideas like consciousness causing collapse in the wave function also supports our idea on magickal process.

Occult knowledge has found great support in the 20th century by scientific findings. Those findings are both about paranormal phenomena and about how weird particles behave.

Anyway, let's get back to magickal thinking. Magick, like any other thing in this universe, is a mindset.

If you want to go right into the practice, I suggest you to start meditate immediately. Meditation can be difficult in the beginning. It takes time however it pays off.

Start with attracting something small. I prefer this thing to be emotional. For instance, you can meditate on being appreciated more than the present situation. Abstract things can be created faster than material things. The main reason for that is our belief systems. We can easily believe that it is possible to create abstract things like more self-esteem or more love etc. in comparison to create a brand new car or a huge house.

If you are more into the so-called dark side, you can also try to create abstract things in a negative fashion. You can easily give a headache to someone or you can start trying for yourself.

Some people feel easier with negative things. However don't go too far because many people are very powerful on this, consciously or unconsciously you can harm yourself or others.

For instance, you can start working on getting better grades. I don't mean studying more, I just mean magickal thinking and magickal process.

Close your eyes and concentrate on your purpose. Thinking successfully on just one subject would take time but try it anyway.

Magickal Arts: Working With Sigils

Here is a three part video series from Rob Cutter. He tells how to work with sigils. His technique is very simple and very easy to do. Of course the difficult part always lies in your subconscious thoughts.

This kind of sigil magick is something unique to chaos magick. It is introduced by Austin Osman Spare. When you look at the sigil magick entry in wikipedia, you can see this:

In modern uses, the concept was mostly popularized by Austin Osman Spare, who published a method by which the words of a statement of intent are reduced into an abstract design; the sigil is then charged with the will of the creator. Spare's technique, now known as sigilization, has become a core element of chaos magic. The inherently individualistic nature of chaos magic leads most chaos magicians to prepare and cast sigils in unique ways, as the process of sigilization has never been defined rigorously and the magician is expected to 'fill in the blank spots' by his or her self. Sigils are used for magical spells as well as for the creation of thoughtforms.

In some schools of magick, unlike Rob Cutter tells below, people also exclude vowels when making sigilization.

If you wish to use sigil magick for the purpose of relationships and love, don't forget to concentrate on the positive. Work with something like "Jane and I are very happy together" as an affirmation. Or to be more specific, you can also use an affirmation like "I am very happy with the Kevin's birthday present to me".

Happy studies.

Seeking the ultimate truth

Psychic reading is seeking the truth across time. A psychic reader is timeless. He is a journalist, a reporter who has the ability to travel in time and report what is happening in the future.

Fortune telling is a part of magick. This time, you do create across time. Time is not the ultimate truth for you. Instead, time becomes a garden in which you can be a wanderer.

There are tips and techniques on doing psychic reading. There many people doing this online too.

Now, if you want to hear something from the future and want to do it by yourself, all you have to do is concentrate on your subject and try to go out of your everyday mood.

This takes time and you have to educate yourself. Although there are a couple of online courses, the primary source is always you.

You have everything you need within you.

Crystal balls, tarot cards, candles, special clothing, and every other tool is just to put you in the mood and keep there.

I know that it sounds lame however magick is exactly that. You are the magician and you are a whole with the universe. Thus you can change the universe, read the future of it and use it consciously to take what you want or live the experience to want.

You can try free association to read the future. Take a piece of paper and concentrate on your question. Then try to feel like somebody else. That is as if some other you is in place of you and start writing. Write down everything in your mind however silly it seems.

You may find many different things and after training, you will be amazed by the results.

How to use magick for relationships?

Magick can be used for relationships. There are many love spells out there that are both new and thousands of years old.

People always have a tendency to deal with the metaphysical when life becomes boring or depressing. Love and relationships are also an aspect of life that may bring great happiness as well as troubles.

There will be many more posts about how to execute magickal creation but now I'll try to give the basics and show you some examples.

Here is our scenario: You are in love with someone. You either don't know each other yet or you are being introduced and you are not sure whether he or she is interested in you or you feel shy about getting closer with him or her.

Let's try the most basic form of conscious creation. You don't always need spells for that, it is not really necessary. Magickal forces do not hear words from you. It is about what you think and what you imagine.

Visualization is very important in magick. Many rituals just exists to help you concentrate on your subject.

Let's use a candle for your concentration. Light up a tea-light candle. Some people may be more comfortable using certain colors for certain subjects. The most compatible color for love and relationships in magick is red. It represents fire, passion, love, and alike. Therefore, you may want to use a red candle. In my humble opinion, any candle would do because magick is in fact your intention.

Look at the flame of the candle and concentrate. Focus on some scenes with you being together. Try to dwell upon the end result. Don't concentrate on imagining how bad you want him or her. Just concentrate on the image of you two being together and having romantic moments.

Try to visualize details about having a date with him or her. Try to visualize every detail. The table, candles, flowers. Try to imagine that he sends you flowers or you send flowers to her and imagine how happy you are together.

Try not to concentrate on not having him or her by your side at the moment. Try to feel that you are already lovers and you are very happy together.

Concentrate on that imagery as long as you wish or as long as you can. Then leave the candle lighting. Take care of the environment so that the candle will not cause any damage.

Repeat this process for a certain period of time. If you feel that this should take days then repeat it for a couple of days.

The most important point here is your concentration and your good and excited feelings. Give it a try :)

What then is magick?

I have posted a definition on chaos magick and then not posted anything about what magick is. Magick is creation. It is so simple. Since it means creation, every form of creation can be considered as magick.

So, it is not the most true definition of magick if only wands, harry potter, pots come to your mind. It is also a magickal act when you just ask for something anyhow from anybody.

Therefore, what is told in the book the Secret also counts as magick.

Of course, there are different types of magickal work. There are rituals, there are a whole lot metaphysical aspects of magick.

Magick is also very much related with consciousness. It, in fact means, conscious creation. People do create many things through the day. We are mostly not aware about all we create. Magick is conscious creation. You create and you are aware of your creation, now that is called magick.

It is that simple.

The most famous form of magick is prayer

Prayer is a basic kind of magick. You pray, you cast spells. You tell somebody else about what you want and you imagine what you want while telling it. You can't help but do that.

It is important to know that imagination is a big part of magick. Whether you work with islamic magic (havass) or any kind of western magick, it always ends up with imagining what you want to happen.

During a prayer, you both try to put some entity (God or whatever fits for that purpose for you) in charge in the name of yourself and you imagine what you pray about.

This is the basic form of magick and billions of people are doing that every day. Whether they succeed or not is another issue. To know that prayer is a form of magic is necessary to get the hang of magick.

Energy and directing energy

When it comes to magick, we talk about energy. On one hand, the energy we are talking about is the same energy in physics but on the other hand there is more than that to it.

Practicing magick means directing certain energies in order to achieve change in the physical plane. You do that by a metaphysical process.

For instance, when you do sex magick, you try to direct the energy that comes from the sexual act. This occurs both on the physical and the metaphysical plane.

I know it is not easy to understand. I am still suspicious about what kind of an energy is directed in sex magic and how it is directed. I can't seem to get that completely.

But I can get this: When I try to create a headache in my head, I am usually successful on that. When you try to create a headache on any other person, most probably you will be successful on that too. The mechanism is not that important. You don't know how electricity works but you use it anyway.

So far, it is necessary and sufficient to know that magick plays with someone's internal energies and it also plays with many of the external energies.

Let's start with a definition

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia has a good starting information on chaos magick:

Chaos magic is a form of magic which was first formulated in West Yorkshire, England, in the 1970s. Through a variety of techniques often reminiscent of Western ceremonial magic or neoshamanism, many practitioners believe they can change both their subjective experience and objective reality, though some chaos magicians dispute that magic occurs through paranormal means.

Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems. In this way, some chaos magicians consider their practice to be a form of paradigm piracy. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, ceremonial magic, shamanism, Eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism.

Here will be links to a set of articles that I find useful for magickal practice, tarot readings, psychic readings and alike.
